Instead of using a DATETIME or TIMESTAMP, use a BIGINT, and simply store the number of milliseconds since the epoch (System.currentTimeMillis() if you're using Java). This has several advantages: You avoid vendor lock-in. Pretty much every database supports integers in the relatively similar fashion.
Jun 25, 2020 · Dates aren't always an instance of java.util.Date; actually – they're more and more represented by some other class – and a common one is, of course, the DateTime implementation from the Joda-Time library. Let's see how we can serialize DateTime with Jackson. We'll make use of the jackson-datatype-joda module for out-of-the-box Joda-Time ... MySQL has fractional seconds support for TIME, DATETIME, and TIMESTAMP values, with up to microseconds (6 digits) precision: To define a column that includes a fractional seconds part, use the syntax type_name (fsp), where type_name is TIME, DATETIME, or TIMESTAMP, and fsp is the fractional seconds precision.
Mar 04, 2011 · I have a datetime data type column which stores date and the time with milliseconds. The Unix epoch (or Unix time or POSIX time or Unix timestamp) is the number of seconds that have elapsed since January 1, 1970 (midnight UTC/GMT), not counting leap seconds (in ISO 8601: 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z). Mar 22, 2017 · In this tutorial we will see how to get current time or given time in milliseconds in Java. There are three ways to get time in milliseconds in java. 1) Using public long getTime () method of Date class. 2) Using public long getTimeInMillis () method of Calendar class
Here is an example that uses date functions. The following query selects all rows with a date_col value from within the last 30 days: . mysql> SELECT something FROM tbl_name-> WHERE DATE_SUB(CURDATE(),INTERVAL 30 DAY) <= date_col;
I'm trying to use SQOOP to pull data from ORACLE into HDFS while using multiple mappers. The problem I'm running into is when SQOOP is creating the boundaries for the mappers it's generating them with milliseconds and then tries to compare that to a DATE field in ORACLE, which doesn't work and throw... Identifying files with a timestamp greater than a given timestamp I need to be able to identify files with file timestamps greater than a given timestamp. I am using the following solution, although it appears to compare files at the "seconds" granularity and I need it at the milliseconds. BigQuery provides multiple functions to convert timestamps / dates / datetimes to a different timezone: DATE(timestamp_expression, timezone) TIME(timestamp, timezone) DATETIME(timestamp_expression, timezone) According to the docu the timezone can be provided as UTC-offset (e.g. +02:00) or timezone name (e.g. Europe/Berlin).

Jan 24, 2017 · Wow I had no idea fractional times were so recent in mysql. Thats crazy. As for timestamps I had no issues using the standard db connectivity toolkit with timestamps at up to 1 ms of precision (using var to data) but if you get it as a string the format is different from that returned by the database itself, if I remember correctly.
